Student Workshops  | AMP Leadership Institute TAMU-College Station 1999 Fall Semester Community college students visited the Texas A&M campus and participated in it's Engineering Career Fair (attended by approximately 150 corporations). While on campus for the three days, community college students attended classes, interacted with A&M students, attended professional and leadership seminars conducted by corporate professionals. In conjunction with this workshop, a group of 50 students from AMP community colleges also attended the Leadership Institute. 1998 Spring Semester Career Center personnel, engineering staff, and approximately 22 students traveled to San Antonio and Dallas to give presentations to community college students about career opportunities. These career opportunities included a workshop on how to prepare a resume and interact in a professional interview. |
- To introduce community college students to the Texas A&M campus in order to alleviate their fears of transferring to a large institution.
- To give students a set of skills (resume writing, interviewing techniques, leadership training) that they can use at any institution they transfer to.

A student-centered workshop was held to acquaint participants with career opportunities, resume writing, and transfer to senior institutions.
- To strengthen connections between San Antonio College and senior Texas AMP institutions.

 | AMP Leadership Workshop El Centro College
The AMP Leadership Workshop was presented by the staff and students of Texas A&M at El Centro College on April 22, 1999. The session was conducted from 11:00am to 2:00pm. It provided students information on perfecting a resume, locating employment, networking and future opportunities at a four year school. |
Goals - To make students more aware of potential educational, internships, and employment opportunities for students in the engineering field.
- To provide opportunity for El Centro students to meet other students in the engineering field and to ask them questions about the engineering programs at Texas A&M as well as Prairie View A&M.
- For El Centro College students to learn about college life on a four year school campus.
Outcome After the workshop, the students were more aware of how to write an effective and appropriate resume. They also gained insight on the engineering program at Texas A&M for as course load, time involvement and locating summer internships.

Two Assistant Directors for the Office of Cooperative Education gave a presentation at Texas A&M-College Station. Students from Prairie View and Texas A&M-College Station were on site to interact with community college students, and answer any questions they might have. |
